The Quantocks' huntsman and whipper-in are due to appear in court on 21 May accused of breaching the Hunting Act.

The prosecution is being privately brought by the League Against Cruel Sports and hinges on the flushing exemption.

Richard Down (huntsman) and Adrian Pullivant are charged with hunting deer with dogs on 16 February at Longstone Hill, near Holford, Somerset.

The case will be heard in Taunton Magistrates Court. It starts on Monday, 21 May and is expected to last three or four days.
